Project: Characterization of superabsorbent polymer particles for use in high-performance concrete
Bio: Matthew was born in Reno, Nevada, but his family soon moved to Park City, Utah, where he grew up. During high school, Matthew particularly enjoyed chemistry and physics. Matthew discovered Purdue towards the end of his college search and was extremely impressed by Purdue's engineering program and its culture of undergraduate research opportunities. Initially leaning towards Chemical Engineering as his path of study, Matthew found that Materials Engineering more closely coincided with his interests. Matthew expects to graduate Purdue University in 2017 and intends on pursuing further studies at the graduate level after graduation. Outside of his academics, Matthew is an avid miniature figure painter and enjoys spending his time at the theater.
